University of Pittsburgh CTSI Launches Self-Service Studies via THREAD’s Fully Configurable Technology Platform

Collaboration Pioneers No-code, Fully Configurable eClinical Technology for Academic Research at Enterprise Scale

PITTSBURGH, P.A. SEPTEMBER 10, 2024 – The University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute (Pitt CTSI) launched its first-round self-service health science studies using Thread’s decentralized research platform. The two organizations reached this milestone after forming an enterprise partnership in 2023 to transform and modernize clinical research at the University.

“This is an exciting milestone in the Pitt CTSI-Thread partnership. In addition to bringing value to participants and researchers through the use of next generation eClinical technology, we are demonstrating that we can effectively scale this technology across Pitt’s extensive research portfolio,” said Dr. Steven Reis, director, Pitt CTSI.

Pitt CTSI is collaborating with Thread to design, launch and manage their research studies. Thread’s consultants provide training and education to enable study teams to independently implement clinical studies by engaging Thread’s technology solutions including eConsent, telehealth, engagement solutions, sensors, and complex eCOA. Pitt CTSI expects to launch over 400 self-service research studies on Thread’s decentralized platform.
